Study Abroad or "Exchange student" ?

Exchange students are students who come to Leiden within the framework of a reciprocal exchange programme.

Exchange Students (in a reciprocal exchange programme)

Exchange students are students who come to Leiden within the framework of a reciprocal exchange programme. In such a programme Leiden students can study as exchange students at the partner university and Leiden University receives students from the partner university. The leaving Leiden student thus creates a place for an incoming foreign student, and vice versa. Students stay registered at the home university during the exchange. Almost invariably Leiden University and the partner university have agreed not to charge any tuition fees for each others exchange candidates.
