Liberation Scholarship Program

For exchange students from Canada

For Whom

The scholarship is intended for Exchange students from the following Canadian Universities who would like to study at Leiden University for one or two semesters:

  • Université Laval

  • Dalhousie University

  • University of British Columbia

  • University of Ottawa

  • McGill University

  • University of Calgary

  • Queen's University

Requirements

Leiden University has set the following requirements for scholarship applicants in this programme:

  • Students have Canadian citizenship.

  • Students apply for an exchange of one semester (3-6 months)

  • Students’ study period in the Netherlands starts per 1 February 2016.

  • Students meet the requirements of Leiden University for regular exchange students.

The amount is a one-time payment of: € 3.000.

History of the Liberation Scholarship programma

To celebrate seventy years of liberation and honour the sacrifices Canadian soldiers made for our freedom, the Netherlands has launched the Liberation Scholarship Program, as a token of lasting gratitude and friendship.
